On the 21st of November, we did and interview with the elders James and Helen. We did the interview at their place and which was a long interview of short period of time. The story was fun and makes it unstopable and interesting, made me wanted to ask alot of questions, but I was the writter of the interview. But in the end Helen was the last one to go and was in a rush and I was the interviewer and looks she hadn’t had alot of time, so I didn’t have any questions to ask. So in the next view I’ll hopefully do my best again.

As we the group are finally meeting at last, which we gather at Tamar’s which is a really fun thing to do here, she is really putting us comfortable when ever we come over to Tamars, I really like this!
Well we are still doing the job and give outs here, we are now doing the pictures which we have to name them, as we are done thinking of were we are going to go, we will be going over to my dads this coming monday. This sounds so much fun, naming the olden pictures and get to know more about it.
We are really trying to make hours which is pretty tangled up for us the group, there is no room for us to do work at the college. but we are doing fine.
This is our last night of Vancouver BC, Wow it’s been 3 weeks already since we left home. It’s been a very pleasure to work on Archive in YellowKnife and also here in BC, since all it’s done we learned so much from the history, for me I liked it. The other thing that I also learned is that they tought us on how to do editing and so forth.
As I go home to Arviat I will be working on interview and some thing that Tester wants me to do, so I appreciate the work that he wants me to do back home in Arviat. I will probably know how to do on interview and also editing after knowing how to do on work like some stuff like this I am talking about.

I have no time to do more blog so I’ll get bck to it.

Well it’s pretty very much hot, it’s like all the group that are participating from nanisiniq can’t handle the weather here, like it is really way too hot for us the inuit from Nunavut. But pretty much we are enjoying our stay here.
On the 14th it was saturday, we drove out to the Aquarium bldg, where we get to see all kinds of animals were like this animals from Arctic, which the ones from arctic was 55 year’s old ( Belugas), it’s impressive that they do shows here beluga show’s, and they trained them to do good shows etc. And the thing we saw too was seals, but we didn’t get to see the show.
After seeing the whales, we also saw all kinds of fish, it’s pretty awkward, there’s like sharks and small types of fishes. EW EW and also I get to hold Sea cucumber, which was pretty like holding an rubber, but it was pretty soft to hold an cucumber. That was interesting for me, like I’ve never hold any different type of things according to our animals from north. ( the other thing we saw a baby shark’s, there pretty much nice.)
Also the other thing group get to see tropical animals, didn’t get to go there cause it was way too hot for me and also Tamar was not existing to go there due to the temperature, but the groups did go see and saw Sea Monkey’s and fancy butterflies and alligator and parrots and other animals that loves to be in hot temperature. Aquarium was so much fun, seeing all kinds of animals was so much exciting.
After the Aquarium, Paule drove us to China town, which we get to see like pretty much poor people, and that was touching, my heart broke into pieces because back home in Arviat we don’t see a lot, here like in china town. I was all like hope all is well with them.
So here I am enjoying my stay here in BC Vancouver, trying to handle the weather with me, it’s all right, we still have a week here to stay.

Well we are still hanging on, Nanisiniq participant’s, we are now archiving in UBC building in BC Vancouver, ( we have just arrived last night, yaay no more traveling for the next 9 days). Like we did Archive’s my story in YellowKnife at the Prince Of Wales heritage center it’s just the same not really, but here it’s a lot of work, I found more documents just this morning of Hudsons and also people of Ennadai and also other forth of eskimos who use to lived before moving out to Arviat. By reading and writing my emotion go all kind, it is very sadness, but it’s been a long history, but we still have the memories for our elders. I realize that the people of Eskimo Point back then, the early 40’s were really like famous, all white people use to travel down to eskimos and do some articles and some stuff like that. And I saw some books of eskimo from ennadai and forth of inuit, they wroted out in some kind of books, like probably in all kinds.

I made out some copies so that I can show the people that I saw what they wroted out to the MP in the year of 1971. My Childhood was really never ment to be so bossy, but I was. I was the Daddy’s girl back then. I was the mean little kid, they spoiled me too much.
I remember I would alway’s love to go to Elder Centre, go see my late grand mother.
I would always love elders way. my mom would always let me watch doing skinning and traditional inuit way. I even used to sing along away with my mom when she used to sing Ayaya song’s. at back those days everything used to be so cheap, my mom would always go shopping. Aw and I miss watching her carve soap stones. What a olden time we used to have good time back then. everything seemed it was all confy and funner:). I remember, back at the 93’s elder’s use to gather up and do inuit traditional culture’s. play games etc.. .
